mini tutorial time!!

*quick "shout-out" to ash♥ [teehee] for the theme used in the screenshots. don't think she's selling it separately but she used it in her dec theme club!

MINI TUTORIAL
so in these screenshots i'm going to show you just a few things that every bberry user should know either now or later, tee-hee. first thing first, how to check your OS version (sometimes it matters because some themes are made for a diff OS than what you might have, and certain apps too)

go to your options.

click on about.

and on the 3rd line, ya have it. your OS version.

at this time there's an unofficial 5.0 version out for the 8900, but i'm too much of a wimp to dload it! :P

second thing: how to activate your theme, or look for other ones downloaded previously!

go to options.

find and select theme.

i selected the main one that most carriers give you, or at least something like it, but obviously i've downloaded quite a few of them. whichever theme you have on your bberry at the moment will be shown as the title + "(active)" right along side it. here you will find whatever theme you have downloaded or came pre-downloaded on your phone. if you just got done dowloading a theme and do not see it here [on your bberry theme list] then do a quick battery pull and power your bberry on. you should then see it!

lets keep things rolling, onto our third objective tonight; checking your bberry battery life + bberry PIN.

go to options.

find and select status.

fourth line below "status" that reads PIN is your bberry PIN! this is what bberry users need to be able to add you to their bbm [bberry messenger] contact list. there is a SECOND, and quite possibly, EASIER method to obtain this, which i will show you next. battery signals just what it says, your battery life! mine at that point was 40%, eh, a long day of bberry usage, what can i say? tee-hee.

second method of obtaining your PIN is really conveninent when you're trying to txt or email it to someone, works out really nice and honestly, RIM was really smart to implement this.

in any open TEXT space, such as a new text message, new e-mail, new bbm message or anything of the sort you're going to type in ...

"mypin" altogether, no gaps whatsoever! and obviously without the quotation marks :)

once you hit enter on your keyboard, something along the lines of this will show up [obviously the actual pin ID will be diff b/c every bberry user has to have a diff one in order for bbm to be able to function!!] and from there you could send it to whomever you'd like to!
